Emily and Andrew were married on a snowy February afternoon on Patterson’s Creek on the Rideau Canal. I met up with Emily and Andrew about an hour before their ceremony for a few photos near the Creek. By the time friends and family started arriving, it was time to gather on the ice for the ceremony.
In some ways, the ceremony was quite intimate. As the snow fell on around 40 close friends and family, gathered around to watch Emily and Andrew exchange vows, it didn’t take long for them to be joined by skaters casually passing through; some of who stayed around to offer their congratulations afterward. A quick warm up and Emily and Andrew donned skates for a post-wedding skate down the canal. I followed them all the way down to the Bank street bridge and then it was time to get back to Emily’s parents house for dinner.
