Julia + Joe . married!

At the church before the ceremony, I caught Joe in a moment sitting in the front pew by himself, expressionless, staring off into space. To anyone who hasn’t seen Joe and Julia together before, he might’ve looked nervous – tense even. Personally, I think he was just happy the day had finally come.

I spent some time with the two of them at the Lord Elgin hotel where they were both getting ready in separate rooms. If either of them were the least bit nervous, you would never have known it. The guys were in a bit of a hurry with lots of last minute things. The girls were pretty much set when I got there, but it didn’t take long for things to get emotional once Julia got her dress on. Joe’s tears would come later.

Julia and Joe were married at  St. Hyacinth Polish Parish in downtown Ottawa. After driving themselves off after the ceremony, I met up with everyone back at the Lord Elgin to make the short walk over to Major’s Hill Park to spend some time for photos with family and the wedding party. We parted ways with the wedding party for a bit, and took the long way through the courtyards of the Byward Market to meet up with the wedding party again at the Earl of Sussex pub for a few pints, and of course, a celebratory shot of vodka. Dining and dancing the night away would follow at the Empire Grill.

Congratulations guys! I had such fun spending the day with both of you and want to wish you all the best.

Check out their engagement session here in case you missed it — here are a few faves from the day.
