Last one for the year!
I met up with Kyle and the guys first, who got ready in record time — which left time for the important stuff – beer, a movie, and some entertaining idle conversation. Nerves? Nowhere to be found. And that’s not surprising really. I don’t think I’m too far off the mark when I say that Kaelan and Kyle are almost incapable of taking themselves too seriously. So I was a little surprised when I met up with the girls to find Kaelan a bundle of excitement and nerves (in that order). Emotions were running high all around, but the bridesmaids helped keep the laughs coming (and made the guys look like angels at times), so that when it was time for Kaelan to finally meet Kyle at the front of the aisle, she was all excitement and no nerves.
And so, as the sun set on a beautiful winter afternoon, Kaelan and Kyle were married at the Knox Presbyterian Church. It was already dark by the time the ceremony finished, but they humoured me and braved the cold long enough for us to take a few photos at the Sparks Street Mall. Dinner and dance was at the Delta Ottawa Hotel and Suites, where the stories, the laughs, the tears, and a show-stopping bagpipe and drum performance (accompanied by a bit of highland dancing from the bride herself) set the tone for the rest of an energy-filled night.
Congrats Kaelan and Kyle! Thanks for a fun day and awesome finish to the wedding season (and in case you missed it, their engagement shoot is here).
