How cool is this? In 2009 I photographed Leanne & Scott’s wedding; in 2010 I photographed Leigh & Shawn’s wedding; and now, in 2011, I got to be a part of Jen & Olavs’, who were at both. I can’t even say how sincerely flattered and fortunate I feel to have taken part in these friends occasions three years in a row. And if I had given any thought at all to getting photos of myself at weddings, I totally would’ve taken a picture with the 6 of them! (maybe next year?)
But enough about me…
From where I was standing, Jen simply couldn’t wait to say ‘I do’
Jen and Olavs were married on a bright, beautiful (and hot!) summer day on a hill in front of the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. I started the day off at Jen’s parents’ place for the preparation, then off to the museum for the ceremony. We went over to the Rockcliffe Park Pavilion for photos, then back to the Museum – home to one of the most unique wedding reception venues anywhere! Dinner, dancing, and some beautiful speeches were had in front of the backdrop of Canadian aircraft, past and present. It’d be all to easy to make a pun about love soaring to new heights or something about wind beneath their wings, but maybe I’ll just leave that one up in the air.
Here are a few faves from the day, a few more on my facebook page, and their engagement shoot here in case you missed it. Congrats again Jen & Olavs – thanks for an amazing day!
